Are you an experienced Facilities or Site Manager looking for a new challenge? This role is both busy and varied and is to deliver a quality facilities management service to a good quality educational establishment in Hertfordshire.  The successful Facilities Manager is likely to have previously worked in education or another high footfall estate / environment. 

This role is looking after a range of assets from large educational buildings and offices to sports pitches and car parks. The successful Facilities Manager will work with a variety of buildings and assets and varying stages of an assets lifecycle - rom grade II listed to new-build – this site offers real variety.

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the delivery of all hard and soft services across the campus and will lead both in-house and third-party teams to deliver an efficient, effective and great quality FM service. From major project management to picking up a snow shovel as required - you will be responsible for ensuring the site is fully operational, safe, well maintained and clean - from maintenance to security you will be the go-to person for all things facilities / buildings related. 

Key areas of focus will be

  • H&S and statutory compliance – NEBOSH advantageous.  You will be aware of all the compliance regulations surround all plant and equipment in standard buildings.  You will have a working knowledge of fire risk assessment and H&S inspections
  • Managing a team – recruitment, development and appraisal of inhouse and third-party management of all contractors.  You will be responsible for managing workflow and will be the go-to person for all escalated issues
  • Hard and soft service delivery – reactive maintenance and PPM
  • Budget management
  • Project management

Although we are not looking for an Engineer, a technical bias or understanding of how buildings work is highly advantageous. 

You will be a sound communicator; someone who is able to take ownership of their role; a manager who leads from the front and a facilities manager who has a genuine passion for delivery a quality service.
