Established property company in North West London with a substantial block portfolio under management are recruiting for a Service Charge Accountant to join them. This is an office-based Service Charge Accountant role is working within a small finance team.
Working with the associated Property Managers the successful Service Charge Accountant will:
- Be responsible for a dedicated portfolio of service charge accounts.
- Be a point of contact for leaseholders for all things service charge related
- Preparing service charge accounts and budgets - Involvement in the setting, management and reconciliation of service charge budgets
- Involvement in legal processes including recoveries, disputes and lease advice relating to service charges
- Preparing cashflow for major service charge works and communication with tenants
- Day to day use of Qube
- All related administration and reporting.
The successful Service Charge Accountant will have:
- A minimum of one years’ experience as a Service Charge Accountant – The more experience you have the higher salary you will be able to demand!
- Experience in the preparation of year end accounts, budgets etc
- Understanding of variance reporting (budget vs actual)
- Experience extracting lease information and managing tenant queries.
- An understanding of RICS service charge code and legislation around long leaseholders (Landlord & Tenant Act)
- Experience using Qube (Advantageous although not essential)
- A methodical approach to their work
- Flexibility to support the wider team as required.
This role would suit a Service Charge Accountant who is looking to work locally (North West London). Please note that this is an office-based position.
