Our client is a leading property company looking for an office coordinator / office manager with a good understanding of H&S requirements in the workplace. There will be plenty of other office administration such as taking responsibility for any general office equipment that needs servicing or is faulty… and you should be used to lots of interruptions from colleagues as you’ll be “the go to person”.

Experience:

It is essential that your cv demonstrates some experience of handling H&S administration including some of the following:

  • Experience of monitoring and coordinating planned maintenance within an office space to ensure it has been carried out including: dealing with contractors regarding electrical inspections, fire alarm, PAT, legionella risk assessments as well as carrying out regular H&S inspections of your general office areas.
  • An understanding of the requirements of fire wardens, first aiders, building evacuation, fire drills, display screen equipment assessments etc.
  • Carrying out health and safety inductions for new starters
  • Experience of managing workplace risks such as reviewing and actioning H&S and fire risk assessment reports and liaising with contractors to discuss potential solutions. Any knowledge and experience of selecting competent contractors will be seen as a bonus.

This position is a general office coordinator/office manager role so you don’t need an in-depth knowledge of H&S legislation, as you’ll be working with a health and safety specialist, but you do need an awareness of the H&S requirements of working in an office and experience in helping achieve the required compliance.
