This is a rare client-side opportunity for a Service Charge Accounts Manager to work for a high-profile Landlord who have a portfolio of over 1000 commercial properties, circa 5000 occupiers. This is an office-based role, close to Kings Cross, and this Team Leader / Manager will head up a small team of Service Charge Accountants within the Commercial Property Management team.

As part of the management team you will be involved in both financial strategy and operations. You will be the focal point within the department for liaising with the Asset Managers, Landlord & Tenant Team and Property Managers.  You will ideally be ACCA or CIMA.  Managing a small team, you will be preparing and allocating work for the team of service charge accountants, giving advice & guidance on complex legal matters, preparing cash flow forecasts, budget preparation and year end accounts.

As Service Charge Accounts Manager you will be:

  • Managing the service charge team including appraisals
  • Preparing & authorising work for the team – allocating portfolios
  • Managing legal processes including recoveries, disputes and lease advice relating to service charges
  • Monitoring the Horizon PM systems
  • Preparing cashflow for major service charge works and communication with tenants
  • Preparing service charge accounts and budgets
  • Providing information for projects including bank re-financing

The successful Service Charge Accounts Manager will have:

  • Excellent Knowledge of Service Charge Accounting in commercial property.
  • Experience in the preparation of year end accounts, budgets, vacation accounts
  • Experience extracting lease information and managing tenant queries.
  • Thorough understanding of RICS commercial service charge code and legislation around long leaseholders (Landlord & Tenant Act)
  • Experience using MRI, Qube, Horizon or similar
  • Team Management - must have previously managed a small team.
